Muddy Light
A poem worked into a song

Feel the softness of the separation the touch of beauty on your skin haunted memories blur the lines begin again, begin again We're afraid of losing everything heart knotted into a shield scrolling through World War III until the enemy is revealed What if our lives are simple breathing out, breathing in what if the magic was within you waiting for the now embedded in then We're ancient beings made of stars God is the question within us Ashes to ashes, dust to dust As above, so below Believe in sunlight, believe in rain Take the good days and the bad Reach beyond the first reaction to those radiant dreams you've had Packed away as childhood fantasy but what if they matter now bring them out into the muddy light It's easy when you finally know how Toxic are the gurus, the peddlers of joy snake oil shortcuts lined up on a shelf trust is, trust is, trust is finding it within yourself We're ancient beings made of stars God is the question within us Ashes to ashes, dust to dust As above, so below Feel the light, so blurry vision scarred and broken down close your eyes and simply be as the falling trees make no sound Feel the shadow, so elusive senses becoming sacred ground close your eyes and simply be as the falling trees make no sound Climb the mountain, feel the climax rejoice in sensation found close your eyes and simply be as the falling trees make no sound We're ancient beings made of stars God is the question within us Ashes to ashes, dust to dust As above, so below
